Hey everybody and welcome back to another edition of The CW Torch, today I will be talking about my most anticipated books, that are releasing in the month of June! Since these books need little introduction, let’s get straight into the releases! A Reaper at the Gates (An Ember in the Ashes #3) by Sabaa Tahir Release Date: June 12th, 2018

Synopsis of Book One: Laia is a slave. Elias is a soldier. Neither is free. Under the Martial Empire, defiance is met with death. Those who do not vow their blood and bodies to the emperor risk the execution of their loved ones and the destruction of all they hold dear. It is in this brutal world, inspired by ancient Rome, that Laia lives with her grandparents and older brother. The family ekes out an existence in the Empire’s impoverished backstreets. They do not challenge the Empire. They’ve seen what happens to those who do. But when Laia’s brother is arrested for treason, Laia is forced to make a decision. In exchange for help from rebels who promise to rescue her brother, she will risk her life to spy for them from within the Empire’s greatest military academy. There, Laia meets Elias, the school’s finest soldier—and secretly, it’s most unwilling. Elias wants only to be free of the tyranny he's being trained to enforce. He and Laia will soon realize that their destinies are intertwined— and that their choices will change the fate of the Empire itself. I have not read the first two books of this series, but these books sound amazing! I am definitely going to start reading the first book as soon as the third book comes out, so that I can binge-read the first three books of this quartet! Lies That Binds Us by Andrew Hart Release Date: June 1st, 2018

Synopsis: Jan needs this. She’s flying to Crete to reunite with friends she met there five years ago and relive an idyllic vacation. Basking in the warmth of the sun, the azure sea, and the aura of antiquity, she can once again pretend— for a little while— that she belongs. Her ex-boyfriend Marcus will be among them, but even he doesn’t know the secrets she keeps hidden behind a veil of lies. None of them really know her, and that’s only the part of the problem. Then again, how well does she know them? When Jan awakens in utter darkness, chained to a wall, a manacle around her wrist, her echoing screams only give her sense of how small her cell is. As she desperately tries to reconstruct what happened and determine who is holding her prisoner, dread covers despair like a hand clamped over her mouth. Because, like the Minotaur in the labyrinth in Greek myth, her captor will be coming back for her and all the lies will catch up to her… Neverworld Wake by Marisha Pessl Release Date: June 5th, 2018

So, there you have it folks, those are all the books I am looking forward to picking up in the month of May! Mythology of all cultures, seems to be the theme for the month of June, which is totally fine by me! I absolutely love mythology and folklore, and wish there were more books out there with that theme, especially in the Young Adult and Adult categories! Also, a lot of these books seem to have a mix of different genres, which is what really stood out to me with these specific books. I hope this post provided you with a guide of what new releases to read this Summer! With that being said, I hope you all have a fantastic June reading month! TTFN and Happy Reading, Chynna Williams @TheCWTorch
