We are just two episodes away from the finale, of the second to last season of Game of Thrones (season seven). And I can say, with everyone else in this fandom, was led to believe that we were getting another ten episode season, but we were wrong. Still we are not left disappointed in this action packed season, of what seems to be the season of Daenerys "Stormborn" Targaryen, Khaleesi Mother of Dragons, and Breaker of Chains.
There has been a lot of action, with many reunions and first-time meetings. All while trying to bring upon the fall of Cersei Lannister, who currently holds the Iron Throne at Casterly Rock. So far, this has been one of my favorite seasons of Game of Thrones. I can tell you right now, that I am more than excited to see who will be the ruler of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, by the end of this season. So, here is a recap of what's happened so far on Season Seven. Cue, Game of Thrones intro!
Previously on, The Last Five Episodes
As I said earlier, this has been an action packed season. With the exception of last season, usually the first half of any GOT season, is filled with a lot of dialogue and political intrigue. Almost always ending up in some sort of battle or killing spree of much beloved characters. With it being a shorter season, season seven has broken that trend. Starting off with plenty of action including; many battle scenes, a ship invasion, a special cameo appearance by a well-loved ginger singer/songwriter,

and many reunions. With the main plot line of this season, being the battle of Daenerys Targaryen vs. Cersei Lannister.

Daenerys "Stormborn" Targaryen, Khaleesi Mother of Dragons, and Breaker of Chains, has been gathering her troops to take down Cersei Lannister at Casterly Rock. Which brings us to our first meeting between Daenerys "Stormborn" Targaryen, Khaleesi Mother of Dragons, the Breaker of Chains and Bastard Son of Ned Stark, Jon Snow, "King of The North." Who we just found out on Sunday Night, is actually the son of Lady Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryan.

Finally, after seven seasons, these two finally meet. Jon Snow, "King of The North," travels to Dragonstone to get some dragon glass, in order to defeat the White Walkers. He does so even though his men at The Wall, don’t agree with his actions, because the Mad King (Daenerys' father) has had some beef with the Stark's in the past. Jon Snow, "King of The North," goes anyway, because this is the only way to defeat the White Walkers. Daenerys believes that Jon Snow has come to Dragonstone to bend the knee at her feet, and she is far from disappointed when that isn't the case. Despite differences, Daenerys allows for Jon to mine for the dragon glass, and provides him with men and equipment to defend themselves against the White Walkers.

A part from the first meeting of Daenerys "Stormborn" Targaryen, Khaleesi Mother of Dragons, the Breaker of Chains, and Jon Snow, "King of The North." There were a few other reunions to take note of. Mostly, dealing with the Stark children of Winterfell. Last season, Sansa Stark was reunited with Jon Snow, "King of The North." This season, Arya and Bran Stark have made their way back to Winterfell, while Jon Snow, "King of The North," continues making deals with Daenerys "Stormborn" Targaryen. Sansa Stark has been appointed, Lady Commander of Winterfell, while Jon Snow is away. She is first reunited with Arya Stark, and is a little bit skeptical on Arya's state of mind and return. Especially, when Arya reveals that she is going to kill Queen Cersei. Arya notices the skepticism and laughs it off with her sister. At the same time, Arya doesn't like Lady Sansa Stark's relationship with Little Finger. Trying to figure out what his end game is with Sansa.
A few days later Bran Stark, now fully transformed as the "Three-Eyed Raven," finds his way back to Winterfell. He tells his sister Sansa, that he is now the "Three-Eyed Raven," and that Bran is basically non-existent.

At least, the Bran that she once knew. Sansa Stark struggles with this reunion, because of the change that she sees in her younger siblings. She doesn't know whether or not if she can trust Arya and Bran, and feels that she has lost them. At the same time, as Jon is still dealing with Daenerys, Bran has a vision of the White Walkers coming to Winterfell, sooner than they wanted. This forces Jon to leave Dragonstone, but with some added insurance to aid him in this war with death.
It wouldn't be a season of Game of Thrones, without...
A part from it being a season of reunions. This has been one of the most action-packed seasons of GOT, yet. So far, we've had a House of Greyjoy ship invasion, which left Theon Greyjoy fleeing the ship attack. An attack at Casterly Rock, led by Grey Worm. Bringing on another battle between Lannister's army and Daenerys along with her dragons. And, of course it isn't a complete season of Game of Thrones, without a few deaths to mention. After the ship attack; Cersei poisons Tyene with the same poison Ellaria used to kill Myrcella. Forcing Ellaria to witness her own daughter's oncoming death, just as Jamie Lannister had to do. A little bit later on, Jamie Lannister easily invades Highgarden, he gives Olenna poison as a quick and painless death. After drinking, she confesses to Joffrey's poisoning and demands he tells Cersei.
Honorable Mentions to Note
Now, this hasn't just been a season of warfare and claims to the Iron Throne. There have been a few key moments during this season that has made all of our hearts skip a beat, and also made us want to throw the remote at our television screens.
One of those moments being, Missandei and Grey Worm finally consummating their relationship!! This has been one of my favorite relationships to watch develop in the last two seasons. They are so sweet and deserve all the happiness in this world of destruction. I know I'm not the only one in the Game of Thrones fandom, who wants to be invited to that wedding. Which we all know that Daenerys and Tyrion will be officiating!
We can't forget about, Samwell Tarly's "important work?" as a Maester at the Citadel in Oldtown. This entire season Samwell has been cleaning bedpans, which forces him to throw up afterwards, and feeding the prisoners at the Citadel. In the hopes of finding some research on how to defeat the White Walkers. With the help of Gilly, he eventually figures out what can kill the White Walkers, which we found out to be dragon glass. Gilly and Samwell also find out some important information dealing with Jon Snow's Bastard status. That being, he is actually the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryan, who is the eldest son of the Mad King. Before, eventually leaving his duties as a Maester, with Gilly and baby Sam. Samwell also finds a cure for Jorah's greyscale, which was eventually going to kill Jorah in a short matter of time, if they never found one. Now, he is off to help his friend, Jon Snow, in the battle of the White Walkers.
Which brings me to Jorah and Daenerys reunion! We all basically cried when Daenerys ordered Jorah to find a cure for his greyscale, after he told her his intentions of killing himself before letting the greyscale overtake him. So, when Jorah and Daenerys were reunited at Dragonstone, we all swooned over his return, even if it was only for a few minutes. Now, he prepares to fight alongside Jon Snow in this battle with the White Walkers.
Which brings us to the BOOM of this next revelation. During episode 5, Cersei reveals to Jamie that she is pregnant with their child. But, honestly, that's all that I'm going to say about that, because... Shame!
Besides, we all know what we really want, is for Brienne of Tarth and Jamie Lannister to be together in the end.
Speaking of Brienne of Tarth, we of course have to give her some props, for upholding her promise to Catelyn Stark. She definitely deserves her title of being a Knight!
Questions and Wrap-Up
With only two episodes left of this season, of course there are some questions that we have as season seven comes to its conclusion. Here is what I hope to be answered, by the end of season seven.
Will Jon Snow and the men of the North, survive the battle of the White Walkers?
Will Cersei be defeated by the end of season seven?
What is Little Finger's end game with Sansa Stark?
Who will overtake Cersei, as the ruler of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros? Will it be Daenerys "Stormborn" Targaryen, Khaleesi Mother of Dragons, and Breaker of Chains? Jon Snow, "King of the North?" Lady Sansa Stark? Arya Stark? Or someone completely different, who we weren't expecting?
With that being said, who do you want to see seated on the Iron Throne at Casterly Rock as the ruler of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, by the end of all this? Me: I think Daenerys "Stormborn" Targaryen, Khaleesi Mother of Dragons, and Breaker of Chains, deserves the title. But, I wouldn't be mad if Jon Snow, "King of the North," ends up on top!
With all that in mind, here is something to fill your goblets and minds, until next Sunday!
XOXO,
