Favorite Winter Scene:

Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of The CW Torch. It is Day Three of the Winter Biannual Bibliothon, and today’s blog challenge is to recreate your favorite Winter scene. Then to explain why you would want to be in that scene. One of the books I read and have already finished for the Winter Biannual Bibliothon ReadAThon, was The Chronicles of Narnia, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. I read this for the challenge, read a book under 200 pages. This was actually the perfect read for the Winter Biannual Bibliothon, because the majority of the book is set during the Winter time. The White Witch has cast a spell over Narnia, to make it Winter all the time, but with no Christmas. There are so many great Winter scenes in this book, that I was very inspired for this blog. It was difficult to chose just one scene, but I was able to narrow it down, and so here it is.

The Pevensie’s Meet Father Christmas

One of my absolute favorite scenes of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, is when the Pevensie children meet Father Christmas. The spell that The White Witch cast over Narnia is breaking, because of the presence of the two Son’s of Adam and Two Daughter’s of Eve. On their travels in search of Edmund, they are interrupted by a great man in a sleigh dragged by reindeer. The four children are baffled at the realization that standing before them is Santa Clause, or as known in Narnia, Father Christmas. Father Christmas bears them with gifts; For Peter a shield and sword, for Susan a quiver of arrows and a little ivory horn, and lastly for Lucy, a bottle possibly made of diamonds and a small dagger. Each of these gifts would be useful to the Son of Adam and Daughters of Eve, in their true destiny of defeating the White Witch.

To me this is the perfect Winter Scene, because the Pevenesie’s are literally in the presence of Santa Clause. A figure to influence children to be good for the year, in order to get presents for Christmas, instead of coal in their stockings. They have found out that this figure is very much real and standing right before their eyes. In a place where it has been Winter for 100 years, without Christmas to celebrate. They also find out they are the reason why the spell is breaking, and that they are the one’s who are to save Narnia from the grips of The White Witch. I would love to be apart of this scene, because it is the true definition of Christmas. Being with the people you love the most, and realizing that you are the only beholders of your own destiny. I would also love to witness that very moment when Winter in Narnia finally breaks, and Spring begins to bloom. Narnia is one of my favorite worlds, and I would just love to see that transition of this very magical place. It would also be very cool to see Santa aka Father Christmas in his sleigh, in that magical winter wonderland.

There you have it folks, my favorite Winter Scene, from one of my favorite childhood stories. I hope you enjoyed this post, I had a lot of fun writing it on this very Winter day in the Bay (which means a foggy, rainy day instead of a snowy one). This challenge for Day Three of the Winter Biannual Bibliothon, was created by firewhiskeyreader.com. Have a great reading and writing kind of day!
