O.W.L’s Examinations | April Wrap Up & Final Grade

Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of The CW Torch. Today, I will be talking about all the books I read in the month of April. In April, I participated in the Magical OWL’s ReadAThon, which I explained in further detail, in my April TBR. In the month of April I read a total of five books; four books for the OWL’s, and one audiobook. I will also be talking about the books I am currently reading, because one of them I started for the Magical OWL’s ReadAThon. So, without further ado, let’s get into this month’s Wrap Up! P.S. Since I want to write more reviews on my blog, I will be doing my Wrap Up’s in list format, excluding my thoughts from these posts. I found that I really enjoy writing my reviews, but I also realize that with adding my short reviews in these Wrap Up’s, my blog has become redundant and repetitive. Which is something I didn’t want to happen, as I wanted this blog to be a creative outlet for me, as well as a way to practice my writing and critiquing. So, these Wrap Ups will be shorter, but if you are interested in my full thoughts and reviews on these novels, definitely watch out for more future reviews! Final Rating: 3/5 Stars Dates Read: April 14th - April 15th, 2018 OWL’s Examination: Transfiguration- To read a book with shapeshifting elements or a book with a cat on a cover. Cloaked In Shadow involves Elves who can shape-shift into animals. Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman

Final Rating: 3.75/5 Stars Dates Read: April 10th - April 19th, 2018 OWL’s Examination: Charms- To read a Fantasy Novel, Neverwhere is an Urban Fantasy. The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert

*In place of Care of Magical Creatures I transferred into Ancient Runes, reading The Hazel Wood instead of A Plague of Giants by Kevin Hearne. Final Rating: 4/5 Stars Dates Read: April 19th - April 25th, 2018 OWL’s Examination: Ancient Runes- To read a book with a symbol on the cover. Final O.W.L’s Grade: I was kind of in an odd spot for my final grade, since there really wasn’t a grade for completing four books. But, since I failed one of my classes, and didn’t reach all five books, I guess my final grade would’ve been Exceeded Expectations. Which is the grade you would get, if you completed and passed three OWLs. It was posted on twitter, that the Hufflepuff House got 2nd place, which is my house. So, congrats Hufflepuff, and give yourself a pat on the back if you participated in this Magical ReadAThon. It was also announced on twitter, by G from Book_Roast, that the next part of this ReadAThon, will be the N.E.W.T.s, which I’m so ready and excited for! The Black Prism by Brent Weeks (Lightbringer #1)

*I managed to read one more book in the month of April, which was not a part of the Magical O.W.L’s. I listened to this book on Audible. Final Rating: 3.75/5 Stars Dates Read: March 15th - April 10th, 2018 Favorite Book of the Month: The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert Least Favorite Book of the Month: Zenith by Sasha Alsberg and Lindsay Cummings Currently Reading: The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater (The Raven Cycle #2)

*I picked up the second Raven Cycle book, to read for Divination, which was to read a book with a prophecy. However, I did not finish this book in time for the Magical OWL’s ReadAThon, but so far I am really enjoying it! The Magician King by Lev Grossman (The Magicians #2)

*I am currently reading The Magician King by Lev Grossman on Audible. I am really enjoying this series, and am planning on marathoning it via audiobook. I would highly recommend listening to this series on Audible, because the narrator is awesome!  Thank you all for reading this post, I hope you all had a fantastic April reading month.
