Hello everybody, and welcome to another edition of The CW Torch! Starting July 14th, I will be participating in the Summer Biannual Bibliothon, which is a read-a-thon hosted by many a Booktuber’s, that happens twice a year, for seven full days. I participated in the Winter Biannual Bibliothon in January, and had so much fun that I thought I’d try it out for a second time around. There will be new reading, blog, and Instagram challenges, for the Summer round, and I will be participating in all of those. So, I thought I would share with you all my TBR for the Summer Biannual Bibliothon! This will be the second read-a-thon, I will be participating this month, as I already joined in on the Read-Eh-Thon (and failed miserably). Hopefully, I will do much better in this read-a-thon, as I have a pretty challenging TBR. I wanted to give myself many options to double up on challenges, in case I don’t get through all of my books. So, without further ado, let’s get into the TBR! Challenge #1) The first challenge is as always, to read the group book that the bibliothon hosts pick for every round. At the end of the read-a-thon, there is a live show to discuss the group book! This year the group book is… The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw

Synopsis: A Hocus Pocus inspired story, about three sisters who live in the town of Sparrow, where two centuries ago these sisters were sentenced to death for witchery. Stones were tied to their ankles and they were drowned in the deep waters surrounding the town. Now, for a brief time each summer, the sisters return, stealing the bodies of three weak-hearted girls so that they may seek their revenge, luring boys into the harbor and pulling them under. Like many locals, seventeen-year-old Penny Talbot has accepted the fate of the town. But this year, on the eve of the sister’s return, a boy named Bo Carter arrives; unaware of the danger he has just stumbled into. Only Penny sees what others cannot, and she will be forced to choose: save Bo, or save herself. Challenge #2) Read a book from someone else’s TBR; I chose from a past Summer Biannual Bibliothon, of one of the read-a-thon hosts. Here is the link to Little Book Owl’s TBR from the Summer Biannual Bibliothon 2017. Little Book Owl’s Summer BiBib TBR 2017 Every Heart A Doorway by Seanan McGuire

Synopsis:
Eleanor West’s Home for Wayward Children No Solicitations No Visitors No Quests. Children have always disappeared under the right conditions; slipping through the shadows under a bed or at the back of a wardrobe, tumbling down rabbit holes and into old wells, and emerging somewhere… else. But magical lands have little need for used-up miracle children. Nancy tumbled once, but now she's back. The things she’s experienced… they change a person. The children under Miss West’s Care understand all too well. And each of them is seeking a way back to their own fantasy world. But Nancy’s arrival marks a change at the Home. There’s darkness just around each corner, and when tragedy strikes, it’s up to Nancy and her new-found schoolmates to get to the heart of the matter. No matter the cost.
Challenge #3) Read the first chapter of three books that you’ve been wanting to read, and pick your favorite.
I do not have a book for this challenge yet, because I may or may not skip this one. But, if I end up picking this one, I will let you all know in my monthly wrap-up. That is if I get to it…
Challenge #4) Read a Book that’s been on your TBR shelf for over a year.
When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon

Synopsis: Dimple Shah has it all figured out. With graduation behind her, she’s more than ready for a break from her family, from Mamma’s inexplicable obsession with her finding the “Ideal Indian Husband.” Ugh, Dimple knows they must respect her principles on some level, though. If they truly believed she needed a husband right now, they wouldn’t have paid for her to attend a summer program for aspiring web developers… right? Rishi Patel is a hopeless romantic. So when his parents tell him that his future wife will be attending the same summer program as him—wherein he’ll have to woo her— he’s totally on board. Because as silly as it sounds to most people in life, Rishi wants to be arranged, believes in the power of tradition, stability, and being part of something much bigger than himself. The Shahs and Patels didn't mean to start turning the wheels on this “suggested arrangement” so early in their children’s lives, but when they noticed them both gravitate toward the same summer program, they figured, why not? Dimple and Rishi may think they have each other figured out. But when opposites clash, love works hard to prove itself in the most unexpected ways. Challenge 5) Read a predicted 5-star read. Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young

Synopsis: Ond Eldr. Breathe Fire. Raised to be a warrior, seventeen-year-old Eelyn fights alongside her Aska clansman in an ancient rivalry against the Riki clan. Her life is brutal but simple: fight and survive. Until the day she sees the impossible on the battlefield— her brother, fighting with the enemy— the brother she watched die five years ago. Faced with her brother’s betrayal, she must survive the Winter in the mountains with the Riki, in a village where every neighbor is an enemy, every battle scar possibly one she delivered. But when the Riki village is raided by a ruthless clan thought to be a legend, Eelyn is even more desperate to get back to her beloved family. She is given no choice but to trust Fiske, her brother’s friend, who sees her as a threat. They must do the impossible, unite the clans to fight together, or risk being slaughtered one by one. Driven by a love for her clan and her growing love for Fiske, Eelyn must confront her own definition of loyalty and family while daring to put her faith in the people she's spent her life hating. Challenge #6) Read an own voice’s novel that's different from you; which means basically to read a book by an author who can relate to the main characters in some way, but is different from you. *For this challenge, I am doubling up with When Dimple Met Rishi. The two main characters are Indian American, and Sandyha Menon is an Indian American as well. And I am not Indian American. Challenge 7): Read the last book that you bought. Sleeping Giants by Sylvain Neuvel

Synopsis: A girl named Rose is riding her new bike near home in Deadwood, South Dakota, when she falls through the earth. She wakes up at the bottom of a square-shaped hole, its walls glowing with intricate carvings. But the firemen who come to save her peer down upon something even stranger: a little girl in the palm of a giant metal hand. Seventeen years later, the mystery of the bizarre artifact remains unsolved - the object’s origins, architects, and purpose unknown. But some can never stop searching for answers. Rose Franklin is now a highly trained physicist leading a top-secret team to crack the hand’s code. And along with her colleagues, she is being interviewed by a nameless interrogator whose power and purview are as enigmatic as the relic they seek. What’s clear is that Rose and her compatriots are on the edge of unraveling history's most perplexing discovery-and finally figuring out what it portends for humanity. But once the pieces of the puzzle are in place, will the result be an instrument of lasting peace or a weapon of mass destruction? All right folks, there are the books I chose for the Summer Biannual Bibliothon 2018. I tried to choose a wide-variety of books from all different genres, but relatively short books as well. I want to try to surpass the amount of books I read for the Winter Biannual Bibliothon in 2018, and hopefully complete each challenge. I am really excited for this read-a-thon, as I had so much fun during the last one, and can’t wait to see how everybody else in the book-blogging community does! Don't forget to keep an eye out for my Instagram, as I will be participating in the Instagram challenges, as well as the blog challenges! Goodbye and Good luck!
