Hello everybody, and welcome to another edition of The CW Torch. In this post, I will be doing the Summer Reading Book Tag, which was created by Amy Jane Reads, Summer Book Tag (Original). I am not participating in the blog challenges for the Summer Biannual Bibliothon ReadAThon, but I thought it would be fun to post some Summer themed blogs! So, without further ado, let’s get straight into the tag.

1. What are three books you want to get to this summer?

The White Queen by Philippa Gregory, Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater, & An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir.

2. What book character most embodies the feeling of summer?

All the characters in any Nicholas Sparks books! I feel like Nicholas Sparks books are perfect for Summer, because they are usually set in the Summer, and in a small coastal town. With the characters perfectly embodying Summer fun. They are almost always romance novels, and I usually leave my romance novels for the Summer.

3. What type of books do you like to read on vacation, and are there any specific books that hold any memories while on vacation?

I like to bring really long books, because I don’t like to bring a lot of books on my vacations. One book that really reminds me of a past vacation, is My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult. I read this on a road trip to Oregon, which was one of my favorite vacations of my childhood. So, this book really stands out to me, when looking back on Summer vacation.

4. If you could go on vacation with any author; who would it be, and where would you go?

I would love to go on vacation with Victoria Schwab, and I would love to go to Edinburgh, Scotland with her. Her parents live in Edinburgh, and she just wrote a book set in Edinburgh. I feel like she would be a great tour guide for this amazing city, that is definitely on my Bucket List. I also feel like she would know where the best pubs are, because what else would you want to do besides talk about the rich history of Scotland, while drinking a nice cold Cider, with one of your favorite authors?

5. What is the best book you’ve read so far, this year?

It’s really difficult for me to just chose one favorite book, because I’ve read a lot of amazing books, so far this year! But I would have to say, Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo, really stands out to me. It had everything I love about a High Fantasy, and was even better than the first book!

6. How did you spend your summer vacations as a child, and what plans do you have for this summer?

I used to do a lot of things over the summer, throughout my childhood. Mostly, it would be traveling to random cities in California, to watch my brother play baseball for weekend tournaments. But some of my most treasured memories, were spending a full week with my Grandparents, if my brother had a tournament outside of California. We used to go to so many fun places, and I guess you would say that’s what started off my love for travel! This summer, all I have planned is to read and work. However, I might take a trip up to Chico one weekend, which is where I went to College.

Hope you all enjoyed this Tag, as I hope to do a few more Summer Related Tags/Blogs throughout this ReadAThon and Summer season! Hope you all are doing well on your Summer Biannual Bibliothon TBR’s!
