Hello everybody! It's another month gone and time for a new TBR. Sadly, next month is the final N.E.W.T's that I will be participating in. As the creator of this ReadAThon, G from BookRoast, will no longer be hosting these Magical ReadAThon's due to the controversy that has been going on with J.K. Rowling and her transphobic believes.

I just want to say that I have been participating in these ReadAThon's since they started and I am very sad to see there end. As I felt they provided a safe place for many diverse groups of people, which is also something I have found in the Harry Potter community. So, while I am very sad that this will be the last N.E.W.T's, I understand G not wanting to associate herself with J.K. Rowling, which none of her followers ever thought she did. I am still sad to see this fun and elaborate ReadAThon come to an end. However, I am looking forward to seeing what she comes up with next, as it won't be the true end to her ReadAThon's, they just won't be Harry Potter related. So, with all that being said, here is my N.E.W.T's TBR and the rest of my August TBR.

Other Books to Read in August:

Down Among the Sticks and Bones (Wayward Series #2) by Seanan Mcguire

This is the second book of the Wayward Children Series. Which I have not read yet, and have to read before moving onto the third book for the ReadAThon.

Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb

This Adult Fantasy follows a boy named Fitz, a royal bastard cast out into the world with only his magical link with animals for solace and companionship. But, when he is adopted into the royal household, he must give up his old ways and learn how to kill a man. Meanwhile, the raiders ravage the coasts leaving the people forged and soulless. As Fitz grows into manhood, he will have to face his first terrifying mission that poses a risk to himself and a threat to the throne.

I started reading this in July, as I borrowed an e-copy from the library on overdrive. So, I'll be slowly working my way through this book throughout the month, whenever I can. I am a little less than half-way through this fantasy, and I can already tell it might be another 5-star read.

Disappearing Earth by Julia Phillips

An Adult mystery that follows the abduction of two sisters along the north-eastern edge of Russia. In the ensuing weeks, then months and the police investigations turns up nothing. Echoes of the disappearance reverberate across a tightly woven community, with the fear and loss felt most deeply among it's women.

I will be reading this book for a book-club that I helped start with a few of my coworkers, for our department. Each month we will be reading a book written by a female, because our company is all about active and difficult females. I am so happy that I was able to start a book-club with my work, something I have always wanted to do. I also can't wait to read this book as it sounds like such an interesting setting for a mystery.

There you have it folks, these are all the books I plan on reading for the month of August It is pretty ambitious, so we'll see how much I actually read, because I haven't been that successful in completing my previous TBR's. But, I have a plan to fix that and I hope it works, because I am looking forward to reading all of these books.
