Hi everyone, I hope you are doing well!

Today, I will discuss my favorite K-Pop comebacks of the Spring semester. I believe I mentioned this in my favorite comebacks of Winter, but 2024 might have some of the best comebacks I have heard in a while. The Spring quarter did not disappoint as many of my favorite bands came out with amazing music, yet again! In this post, I will only discuss the comebacks that have come out from March 19th - June 20th, which is considered the Spring season. I will review my favorite albums and songs, as well as some singles. I won't analyze the songs in depth since I have already written detailed reviews on many of them.

*Note, I have included links to the music videos (specifically the main title tracks of the albums), and links to the albums/singles.

Albums

Minisode 3: Tomorrow -- Tomorrow x Together

My favorite album of the Spring quarter came from none other than Tomorrow X Together, are we surprised? Tomorrow X Together is my second favorite K-pop group underneath BTS, as I have said many times before. They came out with an album called, Minisode 3: Tomorrow which wrapped up The Name Chapter trilogy. I enjoyed the themes explored in this album as it delved deep into TxT's transition into adulthood and the emotions that come with growing from boys to men. They played with a wide range of genres spanning from trap-pop to rock, showcasing TxT's exceptional talent for seamlessly blending various styles to craft their unique sound.

Favorite Songs:

I love all the songs off this album, so it’s hard to pick a favorite but it would probably be “I’ll See You There Tomorrow.”

RIIZING -- RIIZE

RIIZING quickly became my second favorite comeback. Just like with Minisode 3: Tomorrow, I haven't been able to stop listening to RIIZING DAY since it came out. RIIZE has quickly become one of my favorite groups and kind of out of nowhere for me. After attending their RIIZING DAY Fan-Con, I quickly became a huge fan. Their music is incredibly nostalgic and their dance routines are always flawless. As a fairly new group, I can’t wait for more music from them.

Samidare Single Album -- &TEAM

This album may have only consisted of three songs, but it was absolutely amazing. &TEAM is another one of my favorite groups right now and this single album did not disappoint. We got three very different songs but they all sounded very &TEAM. &TEAM is another relatively new group, only debuting a little over a year now, but they are another group that I have quickly fallen in love with. They are coming out with another single album in August and I am extremely excited for that comeback. The emotional growth in &TEAM's storyline was what I loved most about Samidare.

Samidare (五月雨)

Scar To Scar

Maybe (君にカエル)

Favorite Songs:

Loved all three!

You Had Me at Hello -- Zerobaseone

Another group that recently had their first anniversary of debut and one that has quickly stolen my heart. Zerobaseone is a group that gets stronger with every album they come out with and You Had Me at Hello did not disappoint. You Had Me at Hello, was all about the Summer season and gave me those hot and sweaty vibes. All of the feelings of summer love were perfectly portrayed within this album which had a vast array of genres from pop, dance, R&B, and more.

Memorabilia -- Enhypen

Memorabilia is an album for Enhypen’s WEBTOON Dark Moon: The Blood Altar. This album from Enhypen stood out to me, not just for its great songs, but also for its extremely cool physical design. The music production was top-notch, showcasing the group's amazing vocal improvement and growth. The songs were so fun and we also got two of our first unit songs from Enhypen.

Release Date: 5/13/2024

Tracklist:

One in a Billion

CRIMINAL LOVE

Fatal Trouble

Teeth

Lucifer

Favorite Songs:

CRIMINAL LOVE, Fatal Trouble, and Lucifer

DREAM()SCAPE -- NCT DREAM

NCT Dream is a group that I don’t know a lot about because honestly, the NCT world seems very confusing. However, I immediately fell in love with this album DREAM()SCAPE, and their title track “Smoothie.” Every song on this album was perfect for me and almost made me a fan of NCT. However, I am currently limited in the number of groups I can add to my ult groups list, so I will keep listening to this album on repeat for now. I may not do a deep dive into this group but I will see them in concert in September, simply because this album blew my mind.

Release Date: 3/25/2024

Tracklist:

Ican’tfeelanything

Smoothie

BOX

Carat Cake

UNKNOWN

Breathing

Favorite Songs:

Ican’tfeelanything, Smoothie, Carat Cake

Singles

“Lose My Breath” -- Stray Kids (Skz version)

I know there’s a lot of backlash with this song because the original release was produced by and featured Charlie Puth, who has been questioned because of his views on the Israel Gaza war. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the song but I won’t disregard anyone who chose to boycott the song or even the band because of this collaboration. However, I have been a fan of this song since it was released and I find the music video stunning with a very cool concept. But, I hope those who boycotted the song or band will help make Stray Kids reconsider and carefully choose who they collaborate with in the future, seeing how much it affected the fans. As they can make phenomenal music without collaboration with people like Charlie Puth.

Honorable Mentions

“How Sweet,” “Bubblegum,” and “Right Now” -- New Jeans

New Jeans always kill it with their singles, these songs were fun and a perfect jumpstart to summer. They all had feelings of nostalgia as New Jeans excels at staying in that 90s retro and Y2K lane. I don’t think they are my favorite New Jeans songs but they are perfect for the Summer.

Release Dates: 5/24/2024 and 6/17/2024

Golden Hour: Part One -- Ateez

Golden Hour was a fun album and perfect for the summer, and most of the songs had a Latin vibe. The Latin flare played into Ateez’s musical voice well and thought it was a fun and refreshing take on their usual style. Nevertheless, I rarely listen to the entire album but instead only listen to a few songs sporadically, making it an honorable mention for me.

Release Date: 5/31/2024
